Our Story
Becoming U Foundation was built from what I could no longer ignore.
Working in schools I have sat at all tables. I sat with students who were struggling in ways that didn’t always have words—anxiety, overwhelm, shutdown, anger, disconnection. I sat with families who were doing everything they could to help, but felt lost trying to navigate systems that were confusing, delayed, or simply out of reach.
And I sat inside a system that was trying—really trying—but wasn’t built to meet the level of need that exists today.
What I saw over and over again was this:
Students weren’t falling through the cracks because people didn’t care.
They were falling through the cracks because there was no clear, accessible path to support.
Help existed—but not in a way people could actually reach, understand, or rely on.
There were delays.
There were barriers.
There was confusion.
And in the meantime, students were struggling in real time.
That’s where Becoming U Foundation began.
Not as an idea—but as a response.
A response to the gap between what people need and what they can actually access.
A response to systems that are often reactive instead of structured.
A response to the reality that support shouldn’t feel impossible to get.
Becoming U Foundation exists to make support real.
Real means:
removing barriers when they matter most
helping people understand what they’re experiencing
and creating systems that don’t leave students and families to figure it out alone
This is about more than resources.
It’s about building something people can rely on.
Because support should not depend on luck, timing, or who you know.
It should be accessible.
It should be clear.
And it should be there when it’s needed.
